Two analytics tools run here. This page names both, says what each one collects, and links the opt-out for each. Last updated 5 August 2026.

This site is run by Christian Mauerer, an independent practitioner based in Naples, Florida. It is a portfolio and writing site. It does not sell anything, run advertising, or share data with advertisers, and nothing collected here is sold to anyone.

Questions, corrections or requests about your data are welcome. Use the Get in touch link in the header.

The two tools that measure you

Google Analytics 4 (property G-Y6HV64BRG7). Records which pages you view, roughly when, which site or search sent you, and the general shape of your device and browser. It derives an approximate location, usually city level, from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP address itself.

Microsoft Clarity (project pcjh7au14m). This one goes further and you should know that before you decide how you feel about it. Clarity builds heatmaps and session recordings: how far you scroll, where you click, how the pointer moves, and the order you move through pages. That can be played back as a reconstruction of your visit. Clarity applies masking to input fields by default, and there are no forms or logins on this site to type into in any case.

Both set cookies in your browser, and both are operated by their vendors as processors, which means your data reaches Google and Microsoft under their own privacy terms:
Google Privacy Policy · Microsoft Privacy Statement

Neither runs on a preview deployment or on a local build. Both are gated on the live hostname, so what you see in the analytics is real visitors rather than my own screenshot tooling.

Hosting and email

The site is static files served by Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs as part of delivering and protecting the site. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.

The only way to contact me from this site is a plain mailto: link. There is no form, no newsletter signup, and no chat widget, so nothing is submitted to me through the page itself. If you email me, I have your email and whatever you wrote, held in ordinary business email for as long as the conversation is useful.

How to opt out

Any of these work, and none of them break the site:

  • Block the trackers. Any content blocker that blocks Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity stops both. The site is static HTML and works normally without them.
  • Google's own opt-out. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on disables GA across every site you visit.
  • Clarity's opt-out. Microsoft documents a per-user opt-out in the Clarity terms.
  • Clear or block cookies for this domain in your browser settings.
  • Ask me. Get in touch via the header link and I will delete what I can identify. Be aware that analytics data here is aggregate and pseudonymous, so "find my rows and remove them" is often not something I can do accurately, and I would rather say that than pretend otherwise.

Two things worth stating plainly

There is no cookie consent banner. Both tools load on page view. If you are in a jurisdiction that expects prior consent for non-essential cookies, treat that as a gap I am disclosing rather than one I am claiming to have solved.

This page is a description, not a legal instrument. It is written to tell you accurately what runs here. It is not drafted by a lawyer and it makes no compliance claim on behalf of any framework.

If either tool is removed or another is added, this page changes in the same commit. The tool IDs above are the ones actually in the code.
